It is a lovely weekend!

Well I finally got this baby quilt done for my cousin.

I wanted so make something soft and pastel and I love pink and yellow together. I have had some of these strips forever! I still have more of them!

But I love the softness of it and I hope her and baby does too!

 It had been so warm here the last few days it felt like we skipped spring and went straight into summer! So nothing better than a Popsicle on the porch!

I finished my drawing last night.

I used water colors on this. Just a little cheapo set from Wal-mart.

I don't know why I ended up using colors that are fall colors when I'm so in the mood for summer and spring. I still love it though. I think I will have it framed.

I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend! I have plans tomorrow to clean out the garage. Aren't you jealous?

Some sneak peeks and some news!

Some pretty tulips that were really on their last legs this week.

I bought some new paper at Hobby Lobby and did a little drawing.

I will add some color to this with watercolors I think. Plus it never fails, I bring home some paper and Meagan just has to doodle up a page too. She's taking art in high school and I think it's opened her eyes to some new things about art. Which is good because we've had some teachers that squash that passion.

On another note......I'm going to be a grandma! Yep at , well I'll be 42 when she has the baby, I'm going to be a grandma. It's my 19 year old. She'll be 20 this summer. This is a new journey for her! One that I am now embracing. It's a baby and they are precious gifts from God! I think I'd rather be called MeeMaw.

Fishing

THis has been a busy week around here! My husband left for his annual fishing trip to Alabama. THis is a couple of the fish he' caught this week. So I've been doing all the running and taking the dogs out and whatever else needs to be done around here! It's my turn next!! I want a vacation too!

Watercolors

Just thought I'd share a little tutorial for ya today! Wet on wet watercolor! I LOVE to play with watercolors this way.

Just a cheap-o set from wal-mart.

Wet the paper with lots of water.

Wet the brush with water and paint and just touch it to the paper and it just bleeds or wick, what ever you want to call it, I just love to watch it! Weird I know.

Add more colors and watch them blend and bleed or wick together! Add more water as you go if needed to keep the paper wet. Keep your brush pretty drippy sometimes too.

Then use salt. I had this on hand so it's what I used.

Sprinkle some in your hand and sprinkle it on the paper.

Especially in the puddles of water and paint. The salt soaks it up.

Let it dry or you can use a heat gun to speed it up, but I like to let it do it's own thing. That's why I do this before I go to bed and when I wake up ,I have a nice surprise!

Then you scrape off the salt and you get this.

And this! So fun! Now go make some art people! We need something perty to look at!

So yesterday was a pretty darn good day! I did a little shopping with my girls and I did go to the book store but didn't see this one, until I got home and it was in my mailbox!!

 WOW! So excited to see this in print! So cool!

 Love the way they layed it out and everything!!

 Yep,I even posted it to Facebook!

I can't wait to get some other things done so I can send them in as well! Am I hooked? I think so! Not trying to toot my own horn but, I'm proud of myself!

Dreams

Much better pictures! I kinda like this one!

I thought this triangle needed to be a shark!

Well the picture is better than the scan, but it was so cloudy and rainy yesterday it was  hard to get a really good one.

As you can tell my son never wants his picture taken. EVER. I was quick enough to get his eyes in this one. When he grows up his kids are gonna be like, "Dad, you have eyes! We can see them in this picture!" If I would've kept to my dreams of my youth, why I would be a fashion designer! I wonder what happened to all those fashions I drew out? I had tons of them! This was in highschool too! Well I may not be a fashion designer, but I am an artist and my family is the best creation I've ever made!

Valentines Day flowers. They are so pretty, to bad they won't last long. I can't wait till spring!

There has been alot of this going on. Lookin out the window watching the world go by. I made a scan of my new page in my journal, but I'm going to redo it. It looked blurry on here. So I'll do that tomorrow, just wanted to say "hey"!!!
