Doing some doodling!

I read a post on a blog, please forgive me I can't remember which one for the life of me, about just doodling. Just to sit and draw whatever comes to mind and just let it flow. I used to do just that before I had kids. Then they come first of course and you get busy and sometimes forget who you are and what it is that makes you , you. It is a total stress reliever for me. So, I went out and bought a new sketch book and some awsome Bic markers, extra fine point are my faves, and this is what I've been doing lately!

New Green Paper challenge.

Well not a whole lot has been going on around here. We did manage to go the Duqoin State Fair. I just love to go and walk around and eat all the food! The kids ride the rides and we eat! Like these twisty taters! YUM! Please ignore my sons dirty nails. It always seems to be that he never gets them completly clean, it drives me nuts. We even went into the freak show and watched a lady eat fire. That was really the only cool thing in there. Everything else was fake and silly. But that's way you go in there, for fun. It definately kept us talking for a few days. I did manage to get a picture of the ferris wheel. Everytime I wanted to take a pic, my 14 yr old was like "mom, stop it! It's embarressing." so I took some when she wasn't looking! Now I really need to back to creating and working. So many ideas and so little time I swear. I need more hours in the day. Doesn't everybody?

It has been a pretty busy week. My 90 year old grandma fell and broke her hip last week. They had to wait a week before they finally did the surgery and gave her a new hip. She made it through fine but now she has to recover. She's sad and depressed and wants to go home and is not motivated at all to get up and move around. Hopefully these next few days she will want to. She's a strong woman whos lived through alot. Was born in a cotton mill and relied on black prostitutes down the road alot of the times for food. She's had 12 children, two died when they were babies and two passed away last year and a few months ago. That really brought her down too. So we are all hoping and praying for her to get better! On a lighter note, this picture I took yesterday in my back yard. It's my neighbors old truck and the light was hitting it just right. I do wish he would clean up his yard! This is also a pic of my son Jordan and a friend and their teepee they built yesterday with some trees my husband had cut down around the yard. They did pretty darn good!! Well I hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to pay bills and maybe an antique store!!

New school year!!

Ahhh a new school year has started today! I didn't realize how much Meagan was looking forward to school this year! Well she's 14 and another year of cheering and god forbid, the boys are in her range this year! Time to get out my stick again!!! Now Sami on the other hand never cared for school much at all. She is smart as a whip and doesn't have to try at all and can still make good grades. But, she's 18 and doesn't really know what she wants to do right now. That's understandable. It's hard at 18 to say for sure what you want to do for the rest of your life and hope that that's what's gonna make you happy and your going to love that job forever. She'll figure it out when she's ready! Now Jordan on the other hand says he doesn't like school either. But he always has a good time when he's there. He's even got the radar out for girls this year!! He's only 10! Last year they were pretty yucky, this summer however is a whole new story! I hope they all have a great year and lots of great grades and good times! It doesn't last very long that's for sure! But I wouldn't want to be any of their ages again. I love being an adult! But they do give me a reason for playing though!!

My Sami, 18 today!!

So this is my Samanthat Paige, she's 18 today! Hard to beleive she's 18. An adult, well somewhat anyway! Really, how much of an adult is someone turning 18? I don't know but I hope she has a good birthday though. We actually celebrated it yesterday with a breakfast and dinner she wanted! I'm not cooking today at all!! I love her though, so anything for your kids right? But on a sidenote, we finally got our power back on! Thank goodness it was starting to get a little stuffy in here! We had some big storms that came through so there are quite a few trees down around here! Thankfully none on our house!
