Journals!

Well this is what I've been doing this weekend. Finished up a couple of journals. Really the second one was already done I just forgot to post it. 

This one was made from two vintage bingo cards. They were the very very thick ones not the paper ones or even the thin ones these are like a game board thick. I got them at the antique store for 10 bucks for like 20 of them. So I can make lots of journals and such!

We went motorcross racing. Well I didn't but my son did!

 We all had a good time watching him race it was a good day!

I really need to get better at taking action shots with my camera and my phone. I'm either to slow or to fast. So frustrating! Well I hope you all had a wonderful weekend see ya next time!

Journal and some new art!

A couple new things to share today. First I finally finished up this painting! I've been sitting here looking at her for a couple weeks just to make sure I thought she was done. Yep ,she's done lol! 

Plus I wanted to share a new journal I made with my new toy The Cinch! I loooove this little thing! Gots lots of plans to make more to put in my shop and for a craft show for Christmas. It

It has been so stinking hot here I think I might melt! Southern Illinois has the air that you wear lol! So true. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Last week so sad!

Last one so sad!!! I just love this weeks colors one of my faves!

A journal page again, trying to fill this one up . 

I did start this one with a bit of dylusions spray and a little glimmer mist in the background. Then added a little sage color paint.

I then added my images and glues them down and added some more paint and used a polka dot stamp here and there.

I used charcoal for shading and a white gelly roll pen for accents.

I think he turned out pretty cool! I hope you all still visit Flickr and Facebook I love to see what else everyone has been up too!

Chocolate pudding mess !

So not my post for this weeks colors but just wanted to show this cute little grandson of mine having some chocolate pudding today! What happens and grandmas stays at grandmas lol!

Yellow and red!

Yellow and candy apple red! Love this color combo, even though my background turned out quite orange . I did use the dylusions ink in yellow and red for the background and added some scrapes of red and yellow and even a little white with an old iTunes card.

I painted the girls dress yellow and added the words with a Pitt pen and white dots with a white Gellyroll pen.

 I used a plate to trace a circle around the girl and added the words and then the circles and filled them in with a white marker. I then added the rays and yellow dots with paint.

I added the yellow dots with paint on her color as well. I did use some water crayon on her face to give her more color and made a darn smudge on her forehead ! Need to clean my fingers more I guess lol! Thank you all for the comments love them all so much !

Week 4 and I'm late!!

Ok it's late, first time ever for Summer of Color but, oh well sometimes life gets in the way of things and you just have to breath!!

 

The colors are a soft pink and grey and I wanted it to be soft and watery. The first one I did was on a canvas and really turned out quite bright so I sat it aside and started on a journal page instead.

 It has layers of water color and acrylic paint. I used some stamps with paint. I also used some water soluble crayons for the shadows but then I wanted it darker so I used charcoal pencil instead.

I used white paint for the dots around the butterflies which I used a Martha Stewart punch and an old book page for.

 I cut out the word from a vellum pack and some washi tape on the sides. It's soft and watery like I wanted. Thank you all so much for your comments I do love to read them!! xoxo

 On a side note I wanted to share a little artwork I did awhile back and didn't show you! I drew out the bird and feathers and the banner and then used watercolors to paint it and a stencil and acrylic paint. Hope you all had a safe and fun weekend!!

Ok here is my purple and lime green.

I do like this color combo quite a bit! 

Made some layers with paint and stamps and stencils .
