Just a quick note

It's my husband's and I 16 year anniversary today! Wow that's a long time we weren't thinking cause we got married on the 16th, our daughters b-day is the 18th and our son's b-day is the 20th and then Christmas! Yep..we are broke!!

Have ya ever wondered?

Have ya ever wondered as you make things for your family and friends for Christmas, or even a birthday or just for whatever, do they Really like the things you make or are they just being nice? I wonder it all the time! I love to make things for my family and friends, it's a little special piece of my insight on things. Not just jewelery, but quilts, art etc. It just makes me wonder. Does anyone else feel that way too?

Christmas wreath

Well I finished the vintage ornament wreath finally.I had it hanging outside but it got so cold the glue ,I don't know "shrunk" and I lost an ornament, so I brought it inside. After all that work I didn't want to just lose it all over the front porch! Of course I had to add a pic of our little tree. I wish our living room was bigger! I would have a giant tree!! But, this one is still pretty I think. I hope everyone is having fun decorating a getting ready for Christmas! I love this time of the year, so fun!!

Christmas time!!!

Well first my kitty Bink's just had to get in the shot too! I went to the antique store today and hunted for some vintage ornaments to make a wreath for my front door. I found some that were priced not too bad. I need to find some more but ran out of money. Oh that's what my husband is for! Ha he'll appreciate that one!! But anyways I'll show it when I get it all together! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We did and were most definitely stuffed! ;) Oh I need to not take migraine pills for a backache, too much caffeine and it's hard to do much else but I've got so much of the jitters going on!! Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow! Have a great weekend everyone!!

Garage sale finds!

I know I haven't posted in awhile, and really lucky to post this one. My computer needs to go to the doctor. I don't know what is going on with it.It's so annoying! But anyways here are some finds from a garage sale that I found the other day. Some photos and some watch parts, Yea for me on that one! Plus a silver spoon my mother wants me to make her an ornament for the tree for her. The people who were having the sale really had some great finds. They bought the house and the relatives didn't want anything that was left in the house. How anyone can get rid of family photos is beyond me. I was gonna scan these and share them, but like I said my computer is sick. Still so frustrating!! I will do that as soon as I get it back. I really want to show them to you. One is of some ladys with their quilts and Benton, which is where I live, in the picture. Love it! Only a dollar a piece, so I spent my last 20 bucks on them! So hopefully soon I will show you the rest! Have a great day!

Well this first picture, now that I see them on here I wish they were a little brighter, I should have used a darker background. They look washed out on this, but oh well. Next time Iwill remember that! It's a necklace I made for a cousin who is a breast cancer survivor. It has a couple of vintage crystals and a little vintage piece from another earring I think. These pictures don't do it justice I think. But moving on My daughter Meagan is a cheerleader for the 8th grade and they had a Pink Out game the other night for the girls basketball team. They play 3 games, the 6th grade then the 7th and then the 8th and we won all three! Way to go girls!!! I thought the cheerleaders looked so cute in their pink socks! It was the first game of the season so in the next couple of weeks we will be busy with games! The last picture is of me and my hubby. We were at a bonfire last week at my cousins house, the same one I made the necklace for. I love family get togethers! Hope everyone has a great friday!!

Halloween costume!

I just couldn't resist to post a few pictures of my daughter in her Halloween get up. She was going to a party and I had to take some pictures of her I thought she looked so cute! No that's not her real hair, she wishes though. I love Halloween!

Oh teens!

Just wondering why teenagers do not come with a manual? Is it to much to ask? Here is your brand new baby girl, so sweet and quiet and innocent. By the way here is the manual you will need when they become a teen. Trust me they are gonna know EVERYTHING and you will know nothing, so here's some help. Man I want one of those books!

So I have been busy around the house lately. Trying to get ready for a Christmas Ideas craft show in a couple of weeks. But first I wanted to show what a 10 yr old and a 14 yr old does when they get creative with my stuff. Really, who knew a peat pot could look so cute! It's a good thing that I don't let them have free reign in my room or I wouldn't have anything to work with! So now they reside in my bedroom and in the living room. They are works of art that I will keep forever! The other pics are of some ornamants for the show. I wanted them to look like sugar cookies. They are made from paperclay and I did used christmas cookie cutters though. Some diamond dust and paint and glossy accent and there you have it! Oh and I am also making some vintage paper wreaths as well. This one is made from a childrens chuch song book. So sweet. I think my mother picked the book up at a garage sale for a quarter! I have her on the lookout for things now! It's always better to have more eyes looking for you, and I do need a couple more, my vision is getting a little blurry! Hope everyone has a great day! Oh and if anyone knows how to I would appreciate a little help. How in the world do you resize a pic. to a scrabble tile size? I am so frustrated it's driving me nuts! Any advice would be so appreciated!! Thanks!

Green Paper challenge!

Ok here's my collage for Green Paper's monthly challenge. I started with a canvas board and rubbed some stamp ink all over then added some vintage notebook paper from a notebook that I found at the antique store. I then added the picture of the girls and a chapter one from a vintage book. Then added a transparancy of a school book page I scanned and then a piece of broken paint brush. I wanted it to look like the things they've learned in school. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks Green Paper!

Making jewelry!

So I've tried my hand at jewlery making! Gotta keep the mind moving at all times ya know! I just got so inspired by blogs and books and just jumped in! Some are made from glass beads and others vintage keys and vintage rhinestone jewlery. The Moments one has a piece of vintage lace inside to pieces of glass. I bought the kit from Hobby Lobby, my favorite store! There are also some vintage crystals from an antique store in Paducah, KY. Love those! The pink cameo was inspired by a project in Belle Armoire Jewelry, but I did it a different way than the book shows because I got frustrated doing it that way so I figured out a way easier for me. But anyways, anyfeed back would be wonderful and so appreciated! Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!!

Well it has been a rough few days. My grandma finally passed away the other day. She was 90 years old and the strongest woman I ever met. She was onry to the end I tell ya! She had fell and broke her hip awhile back. Well she fell because she passed out from her heart, but she put up a fight for a couple of weeks and finally the Lord took her where she wanted to be. She will be missed dearly!!

Doing some doodling!

I read a post on a blog, please forgive me I can't remember which one for the life of me, about just doodling. Just to sit and draw whatever comes to mind and just let it flow. I used to do just that before I had kids. Then they come first of course and you get busy and sometimes forget who you are and what it is that makes you , you. It is a total stress reliever for me. So, I went out and bought a new sketch book and some awsome Bic markers, extra fine point are my faves, and this is what I've been doing lately!
