Summer of Color !

Ok third time's a charm!! I have written this out 3 times this morning and my brain is just mush today!! Anyways, I want to thank Kristin at http://twinkletwinklelikeastar.blogspot.com for hosting such a wonderful and fun time! I have so enjoyed looking at everyone Else's art and their spin on things! Plus a big thank you to everyone who left such wonderful comments or even just to stop by and look at my pages! They mean so much!! I went ahead and made a collage of all my work. I really wanted to do a slideshow but Blogger wouldn't let me upload it. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it? Please let me know so I can start posting some videos of how I do my pages. So here it is..
Plus I wanted to make one last journal page that has all the colors in it! Plus this is how I feel most of the time!! Between kids and their stuff, football, cheer, the dogs, and oh my don't forget the hubby!!! Really it's hard to squeeze it in sometimes!!

the background is water color crayons I just colored all over the pages with each color. I then used some acrylics for the drips, really really watered down. I also used a little crackle paint here and there. For some reason I just don't have very much luck with this stuff. Maybe I don't use enough, more practice!! I used a script stamp here and there and some circles made with an old spool with paint on it for a stamp. Oh and a stars stamp too.

I added the images of the women in their polka dot bikinis!! hehe! I painted them with acrylics and a white gel pen for highlights. I gave them each something different on their suits and added the paint brush. I used glossy paint for the dripping paint onto the watch.

I added the stars and painted them with the Elmers paint pens and added the lettering with the paint pens as well. I use charcoal around everything and blended it out. I know that's not how you spell "tick tock" but that's how I wanted it to look on this. Oh I also used a stencil on here too in the background as well as a gel transfer of a ferris wheel. It's very faint, I don't even know if you can see it on here!

I used a white paint pen for the dots and highlights here and there. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you all find time to make some art today!!

You know I just love your stuff!!

As for blogger. When you compose your message, if you are pasting html code, you have to switch to the edit html tab (just above and to the right of where you type). Paste the code in in that mode. You can flip back to normal to add the rest of your post.

I am still to find a crackle too. I want one that cracks over what I've already painted. I heard about folk art that's supposed to be good, and found a UK supplier, but they are out of stock! Dang! When I get some, I'll let you know if it works!

Lisa, your collages are so beautiful and full of color. I just looked through your color pieces; how awesome. I have not been posting or bloghopping much this summer; now I see that I have missed out on a wonderful summer project! Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog.

I really like your artwork mosaic - how did you do it?!

I love your idea of using all the colours - you've produced brilliant pages to finish this year's Summer of Colour, with a perfect quote. I particularly like the edging to these pages, there's so much of interest.

I'm still trying to catch up with 'orange' and the finishing pages I want to finish off with. The Summer of Colour 2011 been such fun, and your artwork has been an absolute highlight. Thank you!

I love your style!! Your pages are really amazing! And as for crackle paste, for me it works good when I put it on fairly thick and once I brush it on I don't touch it or go over it again until dry because it'll stop it from cracking for some reason. Just use one or two brushstrokes then leave it and don't use a heat gun.. just let it dry on it's own. It's kinda tempermental, but worth it! It also depends on the brand. I hope this helps!
