Finally a PPF!

Finally I can post on http://paintpartyfriday.blogspot.com after running around so much this week! I wanted to do my own spin on some subway art for this blank space in my living room. So I bought a canvas that was on sale at Hobby Lobby and painted it black first. Then I decided what quote I wanted to use and I used my Cricut machine and cut the letters using contact paper. I used a removable one so I could get them straight and move them if I needed to. Then I just had some fun! I used acrylics, but I have to say I love oils for a big canvas like this because they move around and blend so much better. I even used some walnut ink and sprayed it here and there. After it was dry I took the letters off I did use some sandpaper just a tad to knock down some of the black in the letters so they wouldn't look so solid. I then used some black soft pastel around the edges of the canvas and sprayed it with a workable fixative. I still need to add a protective sealant on it but it's so rainy and blah here today I'll wait till a better day.

Thanks for stopping and looking I hope you all have a great day!

Love it....every inch of it and the quote as well. I had a Cricut cutter for about 24 hrs. and returned it cause I couldn't figure out what I would do with it. Now I have a different perspective. Thanks for sharing with us how you created your piece. It's beautiful. Happy PPF! :-)

This is FABULOUS! I Love it so much - such a great piece - and your fonts are wonderful - love the way you started with that ART font. The black base and all of the distressing is really effective and successful. I hope you love it ;) AND I want to do Paint Party too - haven't done that yet, thanks for the inspiration, xoxo
